When Mrs. Jensen introduced Karen Pearson to photography in a high
school intro class, she didn’t know she was sparking a fire that would
take Karen around the world and put her in front of some of the most
interesting people of our time. The medium would become her passion
and inspiration, from her personal work in Fidel’s Cuba to her mission
to give the children of war torn Kosovo a creative outlet by providing
cameras, film,mobile darkrooms and instruction to towns that were
still littered with land mines. She has photographed chefs and
presidential candidates, rock stars and cancer survivors, and never
tires of finding new ways to express her subjects through the lens.
Outside of her craft, Karen crafts leather, gardens organically, and
loves to eat good food. Loves..
